They have three children, Mackenzie (15), Michaela (12), and Demetrius II (7). Alexis is a graduate of Texas State University (formally known as Southwest Texas State) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Master’s in Marriage & Family Counseling from Liberty University. Alexis is the Human Resources Services Coordinator for Mansfield Independent School District. Growing and learning to follow God’s leading has been a life-long mission for Pastor Mac as he has developed through the years. He began is preaching ministry in 1990 at the age of 15 in Terrell, Texas and was ordained in 2001 at St. James Baptist Church Austin Texas. He received his bachelors from Huston Tillotson University with a B.A. in Music in Austin, Texas and completed is Masters in Worship Leadership and Master in Theological Studies both from Dallas Baptist University. Pastor Mac began his doctoral studies in the Spring of 2014 at Perkins School of Theology SMU. Mac’s life verse is Jeremiah 20.9 – But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. Did you know: Pastor Mac was all the way in Germany in 2006 when he heard the direction of the Lord to organize a church 15 minutes from his home? Getting up in his Wednesday morning prayer it was clear to organize a church in Midlothian, Texas and to name it One Church. Did you know: Pastor Mac is a vocalist, song writer and musician? He sang his first solo, “God Has Smiled on Me” at the age of 5 after his father’s sermon. When he was 10 he began piano lessons from Ms. Sutton who lived across the street from him in Terrell, TX. He would mow her lawn to pay for the lessons. He began writing music at 16 and has had the opportunity to write music for national and local recording artists. He released his first live recording, entitled “I’ll Say Yes”, in 2005. Mac has also begun work on a series of singles to promote his new music. St. James Baptist Church, Austin, Texas, (Minister of Music), Concord Church, Dallas, Texas (Associate Pastor of Worship & Fine Arts) and Destiny Church, Cedar Hill, Texas (Interim Worship Pastor)
