Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of
you but to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.
Zechariah 7:9-10 – Thus says the Lord of Hosts, execute true justice, show mercy and
compassion to everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow, fatherless, alien, or poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother.

Luke 4:18-19 – The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach
the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to
proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
The church needs to be a source of light in the darkness of the world; the light of the gospel of
Christ, the light of truth of God’s word and the light of the Holy Spirit in living justly in an
unjust world. The church cannot be silent despite the injustices and sufferings surrounding us.
For One Church the issues in our community that need to be addressed are:
1. Racial and ethnic divisions
2. Christian nationalism
3. Economic inequity and suffering
4. A culture of guns and violence
5. Immigration
6. Reproductive rights and sexuality
7. Eldercare
8. Environmental protection
9. Mental health issues
